Betsy Cox Productions

The Process

Here’s how it works:

You approach us with an idea. It may be a fully developed story that we simply need to translate into video, or perhaps you just have an end goal in mind. We help hone the message and brainstorm creative approaches to delivering it.

Next, we plan our shooting schedule: who we’ll interview, what images we need to capture, how we will stylistically approach it. If research is needed, we jump right in.

Field production, quite simply, is filming. We work with top broadcast camera crews all over the country.

Now, scriptwriting.  We only occasionally use narrators: instead, we let those we’ve interviewed collectively tell the story.

Editing is in phases, with opportunity to review rough cuts and provide feedback.  We may work with graphic designers to create an opening title sequence or overall treatment. If your budget will support it, we bring in a composer to create an evocative original score.

Finally, we help with packaging and distribution. We’ll create your DVD master, design cover art, write a viewers’ guide, stream your video – whatever you need.
